Ronald L. Wigington

 

Ronald, age 85, passed away Tuesday. June 27, 2017. Ronald was born on May 11, 1932 in Topeka, Kansas to the late Oscar and Virginia Wigington. He held a Bachelor's of Science, a Master's of Science and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a career centered on computer science. His career included work at Bell Laboratories (NJ), the US Department of Defense and the American Chemical Society/Chemical Abstracts Service. He also did work at Battelle Memorial Institute, the National Academy of Sciences, National Science Foundation and OCLC (Online Computer Library Center), and was formally an adjunct professor at The Ohio State University.

 

Ronald was an active member of the Upper Arlington Senior Center where he participated and often led the Current Events Group and other activities. He was a member of the Upper Arlington Citizens' Police Academy. He was an orchestral percussionist performing with Kansas University ensembles and civic orchestras. He enjoyed college sports, particularly KU basketball.
