Lenore Ross Mastracci
Lenore, of Upper Arlington, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017. Born August 12, 1937 in Norwalk, Ohio, she was preceded in death by her husband David in 2011; Parents, Nathan and Kathryn Ross; brothers, Larry and Lynn, and granddaughter, Sunne Mastracci. Growing up in Bellevue, Ohio, she and her family moved to Columbus in 1951. Lenore graduated from Linden McKinley High School, and attended the Ohio State University.
In her early years, Lenore worked for the Ohio Bell Telephone Company, Nationwide Insurance Co., and North American Aviation. Following her marriage in 1960, she and her husband David, raised three children in the Upper Arlington community. In 1978 she began working for the Upper Arlington Library. Where she continued working for 35 years. A lifelong sports fan, she loved the Ohio State Buckeyes, as well as the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals. Lenore was a devoted mother and grandmother and shared her love of reading and recommendations with generations of families in the community.
After retiring in 2013, she volunteered for the Grandview Heights Public Library, and the Upper Arlington Mayor's Court. She was also an alumnus of the Upper Arlington Citizens Police Academy. Always a concerned citizen of her community, she faithfully attended Upper Arlington's Monday night council meetings. Lenore was a member of the Ohio State Alumni Association, The Ohio Library Council, a former member of Twig 118, former member of Little Turtle Gold Club, and Our Lady of Victory Church. Lenore is survived by her three children, Maria (Eric) Olson, of Clemmons, North Carolina, Michael (Tammy) of New Albany, and Tony (Sharon) of Salt Lake City Utah.
Her five grandchildren are Nico Mastracci, US Navy; Bella and Enzo Mastracci; Molly and Brett Olson of Clemmons. Lenore is also survived by cousins, Joyce Good of Wooster, Joella (Roger) Newberry of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and Ed (Sandy) Walper, of Rockville, Md.
