Barbara Kowalski
Barbara was a devoted Traditional Catholic. Employed at Battelle where she was the manager of Data Design and Infrastructure Support Corporate Information Technology, Barbara was considered a highly respected member of the IT community. She could always be counted on for a warm smile and a helping hand.
Barbara was a graduate of the UACPAAA class of 2010, and a graduate of The Ohio State University.
With the passing of Fred, the VP of the UACPAAA placed this tribute on the Kowalski's front yard tree.
Fred Kowalski
Frederick M. Kowalski, age 70, born Oct.14,1951, died of natural causes on Sat. Oct. 23, 2021, at Riverside Hospital. He was a 1970 graduate of Coeur d'Alene, ID H.S., 1983 graduate of The Ohio State University, and alumnus of U.A. Citizen Police Academy. He served in the U.S. Navy for 7+ years with an honorable discharge from Pearl Harbor, HI in 1978.
He is preceded in death by Barbara, his wife of 19 years, his parents John J. Kowalski and Eileen C. Kowalski (Kleinsmith), and his uncle, Rev. Fr. Eugene Linowski. He is survived by his beloved cat, Blue; siblings Janina Green, Stephen Kowalski, and Christina McNamee; aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a loyal crew of friends. Frederick loved the Navy, flying, swimming, Great Courses, telling stories, traveling the world, and setting anchor when home in Upper Arlington, OH.
In honor of his military service, Frederick and Barbara's funeral, and inurnments will be at Willamet National Cemetery of the Pacific in Portland, OR. Frederick loved his Catholic faith and donations, in his memory, to the Holy Family Soup Kitchen would be wonderful. (Holy Family Church Soup Kitchen, 584 W. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43215, 614-221-4323) Frederick hated attending funerals and would prefer your fond memories of him be within his memorial and legacy. His friends and family celebrated his life, Navy service in Hawaii, and love of Hawaii with a luau in Columbus in 2022.
